When opening certain web sites appears Information bar with the text
" An add-on for this website failed to run . Check the security settings in Internet
options for potential conflicts . "
I tried everything to solve this problem stated MS , reinstall IE 8 , but even that did not help .
The same problem is repeated again .
Also while working with IE 7 , again the occurrence Information bar .
This is not happening with all the web sites , only to some, such as this :
.
On computer is installed XP SP3 with IE 8
The conflict arises from the Add- ons " Shockwave Flash Object Name
Publisher Adobe Systems Incorporated
Status Enabled
File date Friday, February 15 , 2014 , 5:08 PM
Version 11.8.800.94 "
If I turn it off , then Youtube is not working, Infobar no more appears , but declared
that is missing add-on of that page .
I do not know what more I can do to solve this problem .
I checked for viruses and malware , all is clear .
I noticed this problem appears after install OIbit program - I uninsalled it ,but Information bar stil present on certain WEB sites.

Hi Bronano,

OK, I un-installed Advanced SystemCare 7, IObits Apps Toolbar v8.8, IObit Uninstaller, Slick Savings and Surfing Protection then re-booted. I re-visited Stasera and Tek-tips - still no difference to the infobar. I'm just can't duplicate what you're seeing.

However, a little bit of checking shows how poor the IObit un-installer(s) are. The VM is littered with remnants of files, folders and registry settings for IObit and Spigot. I can just reset the VM but I'm not sure what to advise you to do. If you like I can upload the InCtrl5 report (either HTML, TXT or CSV format) if you want to see what's installed so what needs to be manually removed. However, I'm not confident that manual removal will fix the issues you are having with IE.

Have you by any chance been changing Security settings in IE? If so, in IE please go to Tools > Internet Options then, on the Security tab, click on the 'Reset all zones to default level' and try visiting Staseraintv again.

Hi Rick988,

All settings in IE 8 are in default.
This program IObit is worse than any virus.
Have you noticed that none of the MS recommendations regarding the Information Bar can not be applied, indeed very strange.
I'm in the Registry dilited everything that was in connection with IObit , however it seems that the cause of this conflict between IE 8 and Adobe Flash Player exists somewhere, but where, it's a secret.
This has already become a nightmare.
If you think it would be useful to manually delete some stuff, please let me know, and I'll try to. The computer shows that no viruses or other harmful things are present.
Thank you very much for the help and assistance.
Note that this happens only with IE 8, and Firefox does not show any problem.

Hi bronano,

IE uses Flash as an ActiveX component which Firefox doesn't. The problem seems to be with this Flash ActiveX rather than IE so we'll work on this.

Before you go any further, do you have System Restore turned on and, if so, is it possible to do a restore back to just before you installed Advanced SystemCare 7?

If not then you'll have to do the following:
1. Do a backup of the registry, just in case (which will need System Restore switched on).

2. In the registry, delete the following keys (and any sub-keys) which were added by the installation of Advanced SystemCare V7:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AppDataLow\Software\IObit Apps
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AppDataLow\Software\Search Settings
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IObit Apps
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Search Settings
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\IObit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\IObit Apps
This will get rid of most (not all) of the Advanced SystemCare V7 settings, if not already removed by its un-install.
IMPORTANT: Ignore this step if you are not confident about working in the registry. (However, a previous post shows you have been using the registry.)

3. Delete all files and folders referring to IObit, Advanced SystemCare V7 and Spigot in the following locations:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your logon name>\AppData\LocalLowC:\Documents and Settings\<your logon name>\Application DataC:\Program FilesC:\Program Files\Common FilesNOTE: You will need to Show hidden files and folders and un-Hide protected operating system files. To do this, open an Explorer window and select Tools from the menu. Next, choose Folder Options then, on the View tab, make the changes. Don't forget to change the settings back after we've finished.

4. Follow steps 1-5 in How do I do a clean install of Flash Player.

5. In IE, go to Tools > Internet Options then, on the Advanced tab, click on the Reset... button.

6. Shut down and restart so HKLM in the registry is re-read.

7. From within IE, install Flash again.

Hope this helps... let me know how you get on.

Hi Rick998,
Did everything according to your instructions from A-Z.
In the registry there was nothing in connection with IObit.
In Dokuments and Settings I found some files from IObit and wiped them all.
I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player and re-installed in IE 8.
More times reboot the computer.
The end result is a bad-everything else is the same as before.
Please note that I have before done all this that you reported in your post, reinstalled IE 8 agin

Hi bronano,

What happens if you add one of the affected sites to Trusted Sites in IE? Does the problem go away?

Hi Rick998,

No changes, everything remains the same as before.

Hi bronano,

The Stasera web page is trying to run two adverts using Flash Player.

Let's see if any add-ons may be affecting IE.

In IE, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons.

Can you please let me know what Toolbars and Extensions are listed and what their Status is, i.e. enabled or disabled.

Hi bronano,

I forgot to add...

Please also delete the temporary Internet files. (Tools > Internet Options > Delete, remove all ticks except for the top 2 checkboxes then click on Delete button.)

Hi Rick 998,
Done as you ask.
Please explain how I can attach picture of Toolbars and Extensions I made using Paint from Accessories in here to post it to you.
Sorry for my ignorance

Hi bronano,

I use to upload pictures. It's free and you don't need to register.

Try to crop the pictures so only the relevant info is included and to keep the filesize down. Make sure you leave the Resize dropdown at Do not resize my image:
update.jpg

After your picture is uploaded you'll get a number of links. Copy the Direct Link to the clipboard:
directlink.jpg

Finally, use the Picture icon in the forum thread's reply window to paste the link then the Preview button to check it looks how you want.

Hope this helps...

Hi bronano,

It looks like you pasted the links from the clipboard directly in to the reply rather using the Picture icon on the reply's menubar... but no problem, I was able to view them anyway.

(That's a lot of IE add-ons. Is IE slow to load?)

Please temporarily disable ALL IE add-ons (especially the Avast ones) EXCEPT for the Shockwave Flash Object (which is the Flash Player). This is to isolate any interaction between add-ons. Does this affect the issue with the Information Bar?

Hi Rick998,
Done as you suggessted
Unfortunatelly old problem is present and remains.
My sensation is this conflic is between IE 8 and Adobe Flas player,
When I desable Flash Player ( only that one )- other add-ons Enabled- no more problems - all is O.K.
IE is not slow.

Hi bronano,

Please re-enable ALL add-ons, if you haven't already done so.

Please check Flash Player's permissions in IE:

1. In IE, go to Tools > Manage Add-ons.

2. In the top-right pane, select the Shockwave Flash Object (which is actually the Flash Player ActiveX component) then click on the More information link in the bottom pane:
add_ons.jpg

3. Check whether you have the all sites flag (i.e. a *):
Allow_All_Sites.jpg

4. If not, please click on the Allow on all sites button:
Allow_All_Sites1.jpg

This will (should) set the all sites permission flag in the registry.

Has this helped?

Hi Rick998,

Yes, I have the all sites allowed- flag (i.e. a *)
same as in your point 3. of a/m post.
