Option 61 switch, using an analog line on a Teledex Diamond L2-S set.

How the heck do you transfer a call from this phone? There is a SPRE set up for the flash hook: **8, but it gives a busy dial tone.

Thanks!

Here's a TNB of the set:

Just realized this set has CLS MBXD. Would MBXA make all my problems go away?

Press the Flash key, hear dial tone, dial next number, hang up.

The SPRE for flash you refer to is probably for "Centrex Flash". In other words, that feature attempts to flash the Trunk, not the line. To transfer, you want to flash the line.

From an analog set, the only flash your PBX line will detect is a physical flash - and based on the instruction manual for that phone, it's the middle button of the series of 3 along the top row of buttons.

I understood that to be only a flash duration programming key - thus its covert location.

I'll take another look, though.

Thanks!

Ya, I see that now. It looks like you must "program" one of the other 5 autodial keys as Flash. Page 4 of 5 in the manual.

Yeah, the "flash" button is a duration programming only ... it is actually recessed such that you have to use a pen or something to press it.

So, I went old school. Connected a call, hit the hook (as if to hang up the phone, but only briefly), got the stutter tone, dialed the next number, and boom. Transfer.

It's clunky, but it works. I'm going to look for another analog set that has a built in transfer button for the staff that is using it.

Thanks for the leg work, though!
