I was resgistering my veichle online and when it came to print my registration card, my printer was out of ink (dam kids)and wouldn't print. I used the "print to file" check box, thinking I could replace the ink and print it later. That didn't work, I have the file but can't print it out. Does anyone know how to print the file, so it looks like my registration card?

Thanks

Mike

guess ure using a win OS and PCL..

go to the command prompt and type:

COPY <filename>(eg. file.prn) <printer connection>(eg. LPT1 for parallel port 1) /B

should work in most windows OS..

How to print PRN files
If you print from a Windows program and choose to save the print output as a file, most likely you'll end-up with a *.PRN (created using a PCL printer driver) or a *.PS file (created using a PostScript printer driver).
Once you have this *.PRN (or *.PS) file, it's very easy to send them to the printer to finally get a print out:

Go to the "DOS Prompt" or the "Command Prompt"
Assuming that the file you're about to print is called my_chart.prn and your printer is connected to LPT1: (parallel port number one), type:

COPY my_chart.prn LPT1 /B

and press ENTER

uh.. Windows NT 4.x,--> Windows <--, Windows 3.x

what does that mean? shouldnt it be supported by xp and 2k too..?

i might be wrong though, auger might know.. he seems to know this stuff better =)

Maybe it wont work on a win 2k machine. I have tried it on two different machines and it doesn't do anything.

The program that was suggested tried to print, but all I got was pages of garbage. Maybe it is encypted. I guess I will take my chances, and hope I get my sticker in time. Thanks very much for all your replies.
