Hi All
My company uses the following IP scope for reasons unknown. It is possible but involved to change to a proper private IP scope.
Question is: will this range:
ip: 89.1.1.1-255
subnet: 255.0.0.0
cause any problems eg with switches, routers, hubs etc?
thanks
Jon

No, it will not cause a problem for your network but it will prevent you from communicating with anything on the internet starting 89.x.x.x as your network would see it as been local and not route that traffic out via the default gateway.

Chris.

I do need to change it but first need to upgrade to utp. Still using 100% TV aerial cable!
