PrintUI.dll in Windows XP

Hello,

We're tying to add printers w/ no user interaction in XP

problem is, everytime we type rundll32printui,printuientry /? we keep getting this error:


rundll

error in printui.dll
Missing entry: printUIEntry

can anybody explain this to us? thanK you!!!

works fine. Copy and then Start, Run, and paste this line in and hit enter.

ok, i made a typo on the post (missing space b/n rundll32 and printui.dll)

for the heck of it, i tried it again but we're still getting that error (missing entry: prinUIEntry)...

any more suggestions? i've read the thread and also MS KB.

/ia install printer driver using inf file
/id install printer driver using add printer driver wizard

Yup, I had this too. PrintUIEntry is case-sensitive for some reason. You can type the rest in uc or lc but the "PrintUIEntry" bit must be as shown.

Thanks Stewarth for the reminder.

I should have mentioned that when you are calling an argument from a rundll32 launched service the arguments are often case sensitive.
