Printproblem

On several printers this works but no on all printers:
All printers are LPT1

set device to print
@ 1,2 say 'test'
set device to screen
eject

How do I change things so that it prints on any printer

If you have a Windows Only printer, then it will not print, unless you use a third party library..

Try the following from dos, and if that works, then it should work from your app.

Dir > lpt1 (hit enter)

I assume the printers are local to your lpt port, and not shared (on a network).

Do I have to put the cammand: dir >LPT1 into the directory (batchfile before I start the program) of the Clipperprogram?

Hey Tole'

When you issued the command: Dir > lpt1
did it print to the printer in which your program couldn't?

This command I suggested is just for you to know if your printer will print from a dos based envirement.

Becarefull. If you have Win2000,NT or XP. The windows captures the printer in a spool, it is different than 98' or 95'.

Yes I did print

Do I have to put into the program: set printer to LPT1?
And than: set device to print?
I've read that in the autoexec.bat the command: set clipper=F????
What does that mean?

In the config.sys are: buffers=70; files=70
That's OK?

I'm not very experienced with it.
Couldn't it be a error in Windows (installation)

In most cases (DOS, WINDOWS 9x, 2000, NT, XP), this module run:

SET PRINTER TO C:\FICTEM.PRN (or any name)
SET DEVICE TO PRINT
...

...
SET DEVICE TO SCREEN
COPY FILE C:\FICTEMP.PRN TO LPT1 (or LPTn, or COMn)
