Where can I make the change to pick another output tray when printing in Solaris? Currently, all of my reports go to one output tray, and I would like to change that.

thanks.

you using a postscript style printer?

if you aren't, you can tell the control driver in most cases ...

if you are, then you might need to modify the header you are using to talk to the machine.

if you are using an application (like staroffice) that will add the information for you.

If you use a shell startup file (.cshrc. .profile, etc.) you can set the variable LPDEST to point to the printer you want to set as a default.

In Openwidows (Openlook), printtool will let you select a print tray from the configured/available printers.

In Common Desktop Environment (CDE) you can use the print manager to set your default printer.

solaris has to know what type of printer you are using though ...

My response assumes there are other available configured printers set up on the system in question.

Yes, there are other printers set up on the system as well. I don't need this particular printer to be my default, I just need the default output tray to be one other than what it is now. They are ALL postscript printers.
