My co-worker is having a problem with PDF writer (4.05). She uses this program almost daily and suddenly this problem has just appeared.

When she is wants to print to Acrobat writer the document automatically saves to the same file every time. She does not have the "save as" box come up at all.

Any idea why this has suddenly happened?

What program is she creating the PDFs from? e.g. Word? Pagemaker?

She is operating mostly out of Office, but every program she tries comes up with the same results.

I just tested what happens when I print to PDF Writer from Word and as you suggested, what normally happens is that you get a choice of filename and location before committing to print. Perhaps the software for the Writer needs to be reinstalled?

What about changing the settings in PDFWriter/Distiller. Open the program and check under Preferences or Settings (I forget how version 4 menus look). You should be able to check the box that allows you to always be prompted for a file name.
