Hi,

maybe someboday can help me,

we to LAN NETWORKS, one the lan connect to the internet throug a router that i assigned an ip address of the other LAN, this net work has printer that i would like to print from the other LAN,

the gateway of one is, like: 10.6.6.99 and other
gateway is : 192.168.1.1 how can i connect to the 10.6.6. to to be able to print?

thank you

Your gateway for the 192.168.1.xxx network should have 2 IP addresses, one with the address 192.168.1.1 and one that is 10.6.187.x. This is the address that you should be using for the gateway on the 10.6.187.99 gateway's route add command.

add route 192.168.1.113 mask 255.255.255.255 <10._address_on_192.168.1.1_gateway>

That should solve your problem.

Hi,

sorry to bother u again,

i have a problem after i routed 10.6.187.99 to 192.168.1.1
i can not go into my 192.168.1.1 router, it gives me a blank page with error, can u please tell me the reason doing that?

Thank you

What network are you trying to access it from? If you are trying to connect from the 10. network, that would be expected as most routers do not allow administrative connections from the external port.

If it is from the 192.168.1 network, I really don't know. Have you attempted to power cycle the router?

You shouldn't need the two persistent routes, since they only point to your default gateway. You would need persistent routes on the 10. side of the network, to point back to the 192.168.1.x network, since that is not the default gateway for those computers.

I don't see any reason for these problems that you are seeing. Have you tried rebooting the computer? Have you tried removing the IP stack and reinstalling it?

HI

SORRY, IGNORE MY LAST MESSAGE, I GOT IT TO WORK, MY SERVER SHARING IN WINDOWS XP WAS DISSABLE.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP

BY THE WAY DO YOU ANY GOOD BOOK OR VIDEO TO LEARN MORE ABOUT NETWORKING OR WEBSITE, I WANT TO LEARN MORE. I TOOK A COURSE BACK IN SEPTEMBER 05 (BASIC NETWORKING) BUT I WANT TO TAKE EVENTUALLY MICROSOFT EXAMS.

THANKS

If you are really interested in networking, Cisco's CCNA, CCNP courses are probably the best place.

You may want to create a new post and ask others. If you want to learn a good deal more about networking, installing a running ethereal is always a good start.

I am really more of a Linux weenie, and only use Windows when I have to.

HI

COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME,

DO YOU WHY OUR INTERNET GOES DOWN VERY OFTEN, AND WE HAVE TO RESET THE ROUTER EVERY TIME AND THEN WORKS?

WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE? IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST 2 O 3 WEEKS.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Hi,

just a quick question,

lately we are having proble with our network mainly our internet,

for example it shows the the network cable is unplugued in my windows taskbar, but it's not i check the back and the switch box and it's fine, and others computers too, and then work fine again minutes later, has been on and off.

Do you know what could be the problem?

Thanks

I don't even have a clue. You may want to post this to the TCP/IP or Ethernet or Windows XP Pro forums.

Windows is not my strongest subject area, and I haven't heard of this behaviour before.

You might want to search the forums as well, in case it is a common problem and already answered.
