Hi,

I have users using Remote Desktop to connect to our SAP Server through the external IP address. If they need to print to their local printer, how can it be done?

start mstsc, go to options-local ressources and mark printer

Is the setting supposed to be configured at the client's side?

In the remote desktop connection app, in the Local Resources tab check the Printers checkbox.

With that done, any printers installed on the originating machine should appear in the remote machines printers and faxes window. and be usable by programs in the remote machine.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

However, I do not see the local printers appearing. Is there any other settings to be set?

I vaguely remember something about the SAP Basis Admin being able to control the availability of local printers.

Can you ask your SAP Basis Admin if local printing is avail?

sam

We do not have any SAP Basis Admin. I'm the only IT-inclined person in the company.
