Hi there,

I have this Xerox 6350 printer and I am running QuarkXPress. What happens is that when I want to print a document that contains big pictures, it takes forever to load the picture to send to printing.

Is this a QuarkXPress problem or is it in fact a Xerox printing problem?

The thing is that when I print the same image that was in the QuarkXPress document from another program (alone for instance), it prints instantly.

So my problem seems to be related to QuarkXPress. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks a lot,

How big are your pictures?
eg. are they, say, 600 DPI and when you big them into quark are they getting reduced to fit the box by about 50%, which increases the dpi to 1200, which increases the file size of the picture when output.

what OS, Quark version etc..???

Hi jeremiorama
I'm running quark 6.5 with os 10.3.9 and my hp printer refuses to print tiff or eps images if file size is 1 meg or more, so what I do is try to hold down the file size and export the Quark file to PDF and it seems like I can print from PDF much easier than Quark and I do not notice any difference in the quality of the output, also if you are using large file tiff images try converting them to eps and reduce the file size a little, maybe Quark will print that.
Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I'm running Windows 2000 Pro and I use QuarkXPress 6.0.
The problem seems to be with that new printer I got: Xerox 6350, however, I have no problem with any other program.

The images are big, like up to 6 Mb, and again I must say that shouldn't be a problem since when I print the same image alone with another program it goes to the printer instantly.

Also, I had another printer before, and it worked fine, the loading process to send the pictures to the printer was fast as usual.

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks,

-Jeremiorama
