Hi All !

I want solution for MS excel 2000 or later.

I have made an invoice sheet. Currently I am printing the whole page including company name address and other details which do not change in any invoice. So I am thinking of getting pre - printed stationary in which I have to print only variable data such as Invoice No, date, Item, qty, rate etc...

Here what I tried.
Selected only needed field and printed with option "Selection"
What I got ! Everything but not on the place where it should be and each data on seperate page. Woha ! that was not what I wanted.

What can i do to get print out on specfic palce in an excel sheet and only some cells which contains variable data. not the whole sheet.

Your earliest help will be most desired.

Thanks

The easiest way would be to put your header information on using a 'label box' or perhaps 'insert->picture' of it. You could then right click it and select 'format picture' or 'format control' and remove the tick from the 'print object' box under the Properties tab.

hope this helps

Apoorva,

I am not sure that I completely understand what you want.

Could you not use the Rows to repeat at top feature and ONLY include the column headings for Invoice No, date, Item, qty, rate etc...

Then your Customer info woud print on the first page and all subsequent pages would only have the column headings at the top of the invoice.

Skip,

The other option is to print the whole thing, but use some code in a Before_Print event to change the font/pattern of the areas you don't want printed to white, then print, then change them back. This will then effectively print just the bits you need.

I think I have confused you all. Let me be more specific.
I have pre printed stationary which has company title address, all the column headings like Srno, rate, qty,Total etc. and some text in bottom. Now this is same for all the bills. So it is pre printed in press.

Only thing now to be printed on the invoice using my printer is the invoice date , invoice no, then items, their rate, quantity, and final total.

When I tried printing these data only it printed but on seperated pages. like invoice no and date on one page, items on 2nd page and final total on 3rd page. These all I want on one page.

What I need to do ?

Try my earlier suggestion of using 'label box' or 'insert->picture'

How this works is to place non-printing items on the worksheet. The worksheet prints exactly as displayed on screen except for the textboxes or pictures whose properties are marked as ‘do not print’ object.

The data remains in the same place when printed so will line up with your invoice paper stock. But the headers/footers etc. will not be printed.

good luck

Hi ! bonifale,

Thanks for the idea. I got it what you ment and it is working nice. This is great work around. What I did before reading yr last post that I removed all the static data from elevent cells and the dynamic data cells only were kept. The position was kept intect. Then I clicked on Preview, and then Page break view . Here I some how managed by dragging the boundries of required area into one page. and it was working.

But yr idea has solved all the problems. Thanks for nice tip. I will implement yr idea.
