Need to add a line in my logon script so I can specify more than one printer to any workstation by there log in rather than having to install drivers on each workstation.
Ive tried:

\\server1\hplj4050 and
\\server1\printers\hplj4050

Any know how's out there????

Hi,

Have you tried

net use lpt1: server1\printer1
net use lpt2: server1\printer2

Paul

thanks but that doesnt seem to do the trick. I've tried several things any other thoughts?

hehe, I answered this question in the NT server forum, here it is again.

there is a utility called con2prn.exe in the microsoft Zero Admin Kit. You can get the kit here :

it will let you connecto to printers from a batch file or a login script.

Usage: CON2PRT [ /? | /h | /f | [/c \\printserver\share | /cd \\printserver\share]]
where:

/? - displays usage.
/h - displays usage.
/f - deletes all existing printer connections.
/c - connects to \\printserver\share printer.
/cd - connects to \\printserver\share printer and sets it as the default printer.

you don't have to use the rest of the ZAK. The util is not in a compressed volume. Good luck!
