Dear All,

We are using Great plain and the servers are in Ireland and we are in East africa the problem we are getting is when we want to print any report, we get error message default printer is not available and this happen to some users, some can print just ok. And when this happen you have to delete and install the print again which is tedious job to do every time you start Great plain, any idea what might be the problem the printer we are using is HP 4050

Thanks in advance

If you are using Named Printers, I would check that all the printer IDs for each workstation are actually valid.

jaz , We are using citrix to connect to the server

I remember having similar issues with printers and citrix 4-5 years back. First thing to check (which was last thing I checked back then) is if the printer is "supported" by Great Plains. You'll be surprised what's not supported.

Also, I have a 4050 in our office too. It may be an IP thing or a citrix thing. Have you run the latest jetdirect update on the printer? Firmware? I'd lean towards a citrix problem and attacking it that way.

Make sure that the default print driver for the user is incorporated in their user profile when they log into Citrix.
