Hello,

I've created a booklet in AI containing AI vectors and PSD images.

When printing to a inhouse colour printer, the AI vectors are coming out in a nice processed blue, but the PSD's, monotoned in photoshop using the same RGB, they come out darker.

Even the transparent edges of the PSD are making the vectors turn out darker.

Onscreen everything looks the same monotone. Any help would be appreciated :)

(Im using PSCS2 and AICS2 on a PC.)

Are the PSDs embedded in the document? If so and your color mode is CMYK in your file - when the files became embedded they were converted to CMYK instead of RGB. When you open the PSD files in photoshop are the blues the way you like them.

Just curious are you going to be printing this job? If yes you try and work in CMYK instead of RGB.

BodesMan, thats great. Looks like it was that after.

The printers gave me a ink value in RGB, which is why I saved my monotone images back into RGB for Illustrator so it would accept the files.

I didn't give it a thought that it might interpret the colours differently. Instead of saving all the images to CMYK, I've just converted the AI file into RGB. It was only purely for printing drafts inhouse. The external printers will be printing in one ink anyway, so I hope it doesn't matter what I save the file as.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
