Hello. We currently print a 4 part invoice on a dot matrix that is slow. Does anyone have any experience with printing a/r invoices on a laser printer with multiple copies? Thank you.

Hi there,

Most of our clients have switched to Laser Invoices and use the multi-part form to switch the text that appears at the bottom of the invoice. On our larger accounts the copies go to separate printers some with differenct color paper (Yes clients still want that) and also to direct the output to the proper departments.

Thank you for the reply Michael. This is what our IT guy is saying "We can’t use a laser until the MAS folks change the invoice printing program to allow graphical printing instead of the current character-based printing." We use MAS200 4.0

We print our logo on the invoice, but that shouldn't matter, no? Also, can you please explain the part "use the multi-part form to switch the text that appears at the bottom of the invoice."? I don't understand that. Do you mean they change the bottom to read Customer Copy, Remittance Copy, etc.? How is that accomplished? I figured you would just print multiple copies of the same invoice.

Lastly, we use different color multi-paper invoice forms, I know it's old school, but I had not thought of using multiple printers for the output. I'm sure we can do without using different color paper. Thanks again Michael. I really appreciate your input.

Once you enable graphical invoices you will have access the the Multi Part Enable check box that will enable the Multi Part button. This will take you to what is essientially 5 individual printer setups where you can define multiple copies of the same or different printers.

With each printer definition you can also provide some text that will be made available to the Crystal Report based form in the manner of a variable that can be used as shadow text or any type of text such as at the bottom of the page for identifying a particular copy. This also allows the Crystal Report designer to create unique form attributes. For example, to put a signature line on one of the form types.

Hi rrmando,

I'm not using MAS200 only MAS90, but I believe that in the options screen of Sales Order there s/b a tab to select Graphical Forms.

We not longer use the different color paper since the "Multi-Part form" allows use change the bottom of each copy to read were/what the copy is for: "Customer Copy, Remittance Copy, etc".

And you are right that LOGO's are no problem at all

Thank you all of your replies and help. As difficult and embarrassing as it is, for 3 years (I've only been here 1), no one thought that we could use laser invoices. Never too late to learn I always say. Thanks again.
