User has an HP Vectra VL420 with 256MB RAM and a 20GB Hard Drive split between an 8MB system partition and a 12GB Data partition.

User's Printer is a brand new:
HP Deskjet 5650 with the latest PCL Drivers.

The Excell Spreadsheet he is trying to print is 78K.

His machine hangs for over 10 Minutes with no output and when the document finally prints is has garbled characters.

User indicates he was able to print the document from another users computer and it printed quickly and correctly.

He has tried multiple times to install new drivers and this has failed to resolve the issue.

He has tried different printers and different cables, both Parallel and USB.

I have tried configuring the OS to print directly to the printer rather than spooling however this fails to resolve the issue.

I am going to try logging in as a different user and printing the document to determine if the issue could be that the user has a corrupt profile.

Any thought on what might be causing this issue at the OS level?

Also, is it possible for me to specify much space is allocated to the spooler and also can I specify the location of the spooler (for example, moving it to the larger partition)?

Thanks in advance for any help with this issue.

It seems to be a driver issue, have you completely deleted the original driver installation. ie: start settings printers right click to server properties and then remove the driver from there then reinstall. This may cure the problem
