Hello,

I've seen it advertised that our Color LJ 5500n will print to full bleed on 11 x 17 paper. However, I can't figure out how to make it do this. Can anyone help?

Thank you!

Thanks for the link to that article.
Someone helped me figure out that the HP Color Laserjet 5500n can print up to 12 x 18, making it possible to trim the paper down to 11 x 17, thereby making it seem like a full bleed.
A shame, but good to know.

Thank you!

Yes, that would be how they do "full bleed".

The problem with printing laser printers to the edge of the paper is that it tends to make a mess of things inside (on the transfer roller and fuser). That's why their "full bleed" is actually oversized paper trimmed down.

An inkjet can go "full bleed", but in that case it's ink, and not toner, getting all over everything.
