Can you help me?
I have installed QBasic in the directory C:\windows
\command. It is working okay except that I cannot get anything to print to the printer.

Nothing happens using the File>print command from the menu bar and nothing happens using the LPRINT basic command.

I have a COMPAQ Presario 7360 and a Compaq ij300 printer

Your printer probably isn't configured to spool or print MSDOS print jobs. You'll find that option in your Windows printer settings.

All I know is that I can't use either of those in WinNT 4.0 either. Try checking your printer settings as Alt255 said.

English is too hard to learn, the vowles change too much like come/home, comb/tomb, book/school, high/bye/sty, etc., etc. So should I say Geez or Sheez or Cheeze? hehe.

Parrallel or USB, Most printers can take MSDOS type line feeds if set on something like LPT1(Printer Parrallel Port), however some are exclusivly windows/Mac based where they must have drivers for even textmode printing, I would think you would want to consult with the manual or manufactuer as far as DOS printing goes, also if you are trying to print from a dos box under windows, you'll run into problems, as a DOS box isnt realmode dos, and also windows often tends to lock alot of hardware, therefore a console window could never lock access to some devices.

Thanks for the info kb244.

The NT server I was talking about is at work. My little work-around is that to change the .BAS extention to .TXT then send NOTEPAD /PRINT "C:\filename" to windows and let windows deal with it.
