I have an older DOS based application that I need to print screens out of it. In WIN98 hitting SHIFT+PRINT SCREEN would print the information on the screen. Now in WIN2K it won't work. Is there any way I can force it to do so. Maybe some entry I need to put into the config.nt file or something?

If you just want screen shots, hit alt+PrintScrn and then paste into something like Word. You can then print it.

btw. shift+printscrn takes a shot of the entire desktop which can be pasted into something like Word

I tried the shift-print screen, problem is the program runs with a black backround and green text, which is not changable. Was hoping to save a little black ink, know of any third party DOS emulators that are a little more robust then the one used in Win 2K?????

you could also share your local printer and then use the "net use" command. This i have not tried personally but it seems to make sense. Check net use -> overview in Windows Help. Good Luck. -md

Net use
Connects a computer to or disconnects a computer from a shared resource, or displays information about computer connections. The command also controls persistent net connections.

net use [devicename | *] [\\computername\sharename[\volume]] [password | *]] [/user:[domainname\]username] [[/delete] | [/persistent:{yes | no}]]

net use devicename [/home[password | *]] [/delete:{yes | no}]

net use [/persistent:{yes | no}]

Parameters

none

Used without parameters, net use retrieves a list of network connections.

devicename

Assigns a name to connect to the resource or specifies the device to be disconnected. There are two kinds of device names: disk drives (D: through Z:) and printers (LPT1: through LPT3:). Type an asterisk instead of a specific device name to assign the next available device name.

\\computername\sharename

If you highlight the text in the dos screen and do a ctrl+c, you can paste just the text into a text editor and print it.
