Hi,

I have a windows 2000 AD server and I want to allow
anyone on the lan to use a shared printer and
access a shared public folder - without authing
against the server.

This seems to be tricky seeing as 'Everyone' appears
to mean 'anyone who's authed'.

Ive enabled the guest account but to print clients
need to first mount a mapped drive under the account
"guest" before they can print ... which isnt very
intuitive.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

cheers
richard

Simple, first make sure your share and NTFS permissions are set for everyone, then create a global group called printusers and drop the everyone group in it, next drop the global group into the local print operators group and give at group all print rights. If you read through the help files it should explain it. Also support.microsoft.com and search for it.
