I have a 6 page Acrobat document. I am printing duplex on a tektronix phaser 860. When I go to print and choose 15 copies and collate, the job does not collate. It prints each page 15 times and I have to collate manually. Otherwise I have to print the set one at a time to get the sets collate. Am I missing something here? What is wrong?

robertw477,

I have the same problem only on Xerox Phaser 7300 DN printer. Acrobat does to collate print jobs on any printer. This is identified in Adobe support knowledge base article 322402. I have been looking for a third party plug in but no success. Let me know if you have figured out how to resolve this. Thanks.

I was having the same problem on the HP 4100 and 8100 printers. The collate option was not available. If you install Postscript drivers for these printers the collate option IS available. Amazingly, Adobe does not seem to know this, as I cannot find it in their Knowledgebase.

Even the Adobe PDF reader 6.0 cannot collate copies. You would think this is brain surgery. I have some documents that I needs qtys on that I have to hit control/p 50 times in a row to get what I need. I will look in the printer driver again to see if I can get it to collate. You would think this is such an easy function within the pdf reader?

I'm using the full version. Even it will not collate with PCL drivers. After loading the PS driver for the same printer the collate function is available. Just printed 30 manuals at 60 pages each and collate worked fine.
