Printing BLOB objects in Reports 6i

Is it possible to display BLOB objects in reports 6i.
Please Treat this as urgent and help me out .How to read Blob object form database and diplay it in reprots 6i. I think DBMS_LOB can be used to read blob objects but have no idea abt how to dispalay it in reports.

Hi,
Can you tell me what does your BLOB has in your Database.
If it is an image then do as follows:

1.Create a Report using the report wizard and use the default layout.If you run the report, BLOB field displays text rather than an image.
2.Go to the Layout Editor and select the field that has BLOB as source. Go to properties and change 'File Format' value from TEXT to IMAGE.
3.When you run the report, it will display the correct image.

I WANT TO DISPLAY A WORD DOCUMENT WHICH CONTAINS TERMS AND CONDITIONS . IS THIS POSSIBLE THE SAME WAY YOU HAVE MENTIONED

I have faced the same problem. But I don't think you can print a BLOB columns in reports(which stores documents like .doc, .pdf files)

I would suggest you follow 2 steps

1. fetch blob data into your local directory using any download method you know.

2. Use host command from your forms to print the blob to default printer.

Use formula column in which assign BLOB to Varchar and then return the Varchar. You may have to delete all non-ascii character also. Look here:
