This is a SCO Openserever 5.0.5 server and I am using lp printing, and have setup the printer using hpnpcfg and the printer is an HP Laserjet 5Si.

I have tried numerous things to print a 66 line document on a landscape piece of paper, and have been unsuccessful to date.

Does anyone have any recommendations. I have recommned to our customer to try 3rd party products, but that are resolved to have the lp printing work.

Thank you for any assistance.

Depending upon the interface script you are using, you
might try:

lp -vsi=6 -landscape -dprintername filename

What app is being used?

If you are using the HPLaserJet interface script, the following command will print 66 lines landscape.

lp -dprinter -oland -pl68 -tl66 -vsi5.4857 -o12 -onb file

This sets 12 pitch, which is a bit crowded for the line
spacing. Banner page is suppressed. It is a place to start.

thx that worked.

this is for a custom financial aplication, but we just needed to print from the command line successfully, and provide that command to the programming department.
