hey, we have 4 printers connected in a network. we have one print server with windows2003. each printer is connected with an IP address. we had a power fluctuation and none of our printers are working. the print server is able to ping other computers in the network.

Only the printing cannot be done. it gives a message
"PrintServer Connect Fail".

Plz let me know the cause.

Thanks.

Can you ping the printers from any machine? Power spikes etc can really mess with things--have you got surge protection? Might want to reinstall all the printers if you haven't already and see what happens?
Also what kind of setup have you got? Is it wireless?
O/wise get some of your equipment checked out.

first of all check all the printers through pinging from print server. If u dont get connectivity then might be problem with the printer port on which u have connect the printer. So capture the printer port again and then try to ping to the printeres.

Hey thanks for the reply friends. i cannot ping the printers. Should i reinstall the printers again? Its not a wireless network. How should i capture the ports?

Thanks,
Eshwer

If you have the printer set with an IP address and can't ping it you have a network problem not a drivers problem. Give us more info on how you have this set up and what can and can't talk to what.

Turn the Printer off and then back on.

If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.

Hey, The problem is fixed. There was some problem with the port configuration. i disconnected the printer from the network and reassigned the IP address. Now its fine.
Thanks.
