Printer sharing to XP Pro SP2 clients

Hi, In case anyone else gets this problems here is the way that I eventually after 3 days got around it. If you are running a W2K3 server running DNS, DHCP and AD and you have XP Pro clients with locally attached printers and you want to share them across the network here is the work around.

Go to user accounts in Control Panel>Advanced>Manage Passwords. There you can add the work station name, username and password in the (user name@domain.com) format.

Then when you connect to the computers via network places it will log you on.
 
Will you have to change the passwords 3 months down the line when the users change their network passwords?
 
unfortunately yes but you could always set it to the administrators username and password. We personally do not change the passwords as we are a smallish office.
