We have printer P on server S in domain D.
For domain user X logged on to laptop L, we can easily add the printer P on S and print successfully,
For local user Y logged on to laptop L, we can see printer P on S but can NOT add the printer. "Either name is typed wrong or it's not connected."
We also attempted to run as a domain admin to add per machine printer connection:
rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /ga /c\\machine /n\\machine\printer
However, domain user X and see the printer but local user Y can not see the printer P1. For printer P2, both users can see it but only X can print -- Y's print will never show up at the printer but no error is generated.
1. What am I missing here? Is there any settings I missed?
2. Would it be possible for Y to print using X's identity?
thanks!
