Printer Pausing

Hi All,

I have a local printer that is used by 2 different shifts who each have their own login. When dayshift logs out and nightshift logs in for some reason the printer gets paused. You then have to click on its properties and unpause it when you want to print. This only happens when you log off and back on?

Has anyone seen this before? As it is driving me nuts.

TIA for any help on this one... mot98

is it possible that shift two have different rights to the printer and this is causing the problem?

It is a local printer on a win95 machine. It is not controlled by the print server, so the rights should all be the same.

This one is really weird..

IMO, the way the "log off/on" feature works in Windows 9x is terrible, particularly from a networking standpoint. I never trust it, always rebooting in favor of logging off, even though it takes a little longer.
I know this is a local printer, but maybe you could see if it makes a difference when the night shift reboots, instead of logging off...

Okay, if you get shift 1 to log off and you log on as administrator would the printer still pause? In other words is it related to who logs on (if it is, this would still make me believe it's the rights assigned to the group or member who logged in) If however the printer will pause regardless of who logs in then it sounds more like the operating system. If the same person logged on the second time would the printer still pause?
