Running Win 98, Canon BJC-8200 printer.

Recently my printer will print the first job it is sent but the second job will never print. The first job disappears from the queue and the second show up with a status of printing but it will never print. If I select to cancel the print job (since its not printing anyway and to free up the queue) it changes the status from printing to deleting but never deletes it from the queue. The only way to get the queue back on line is to reboot the machine, power cycling the printer does not help.

I completely removed the printer from computer, printers, on reboot it found it and I reloaded the software but it did not fix the problem. I also check the properties and tried the EMF in addition to the default if RAW formats. I also removed spooling and said to go directly to printer but still only able to get the first job to print. Anything behind hangs until the system is rebooted.

Thanks for any ideas!

If or when someone answers this problem please forward the response to me at : billw@zoomtown.com. Ihave exactly the same problem with win 98 and procomm 4.6 printing bills of lading. I can sometimes print the first job fine but if I put in more than one bill or more than 3 items on a bill the system locks up.

Do you have a bi-directonal cable? Your printer may require this to communicate properly with the computer.

you can try and go into the printer proprties and change settings to print direct to printer and not to spool yo buffer can be a memory prob on printer
