Anyone know of a list of recommended printers for
RS/6000 7012-320H running AIX 4.2.1
RS/6000 7011-250 running AIX 4.3.3
to help me search on Ebay. Need to buy a couple of cheapies.

Can't go wrong with a HP Laserjet. Most will run under HP Laserjet III

Mike thanks for advice. Got a LasetJet 4+.
Take delivery in a few days.

Got the LaserJet 4+ hooked up and in editor typed in a message and it printed out okay.
As a further test clicked on documents which is opened by Netscape.
On trying to print out a page of info I get
Page 1:- 4 rows of #'s across the page starting with one *
Two rows of *'s across the page
Title SRDIN.4352
TIME PRINTED the date & time
TIME QUEUED the date & time
PRINTED AT lp0 (hplj-4+) @ OldAge
SUBMITTED BY root
DELIVER TO root
Two rows of *'s across the page
FLAG VALUES and 3 rows of numbers
Page 2:- Actually 10 pages of gibberish but it looks like
all the stuff a programmer would enter to
create the web page. The actual info on the
screen is not printed out.

Am at a loss to find what settings to fix this up. Have a 7011-250 running AIX 4.3.3.

The first page is the standard banner page.

The rest sound like you're sending PostScript or PCL to a printer as plain ASCII. Can you post the first 10 lines or so of the output?

Try setting up a postscript queue or take a look at ghostscript.
