I am finding third parties advertising color fast ink for inkjet printers but I cannot determine if the OEM ink has this quality. Anybody know what the state of the art is with Inkjet printer ink?

Obviously not. Third party ink cartridges are not subjected to the same and rigorous testing of OEM ink cartridges. Third party inks, have a larger particle size and therefore if the print head is not on the cartridge itself, will damage the printer head. However, nowadays the inkjet cartridges from OEM's are extremely expensive, and one cannot look at OEM's anymore, thus third party cartridges. The quality is never the same, the ink colours themselves are different, on a molecular scale-even though you cannot see it.
Rather buy a new printer, which comes with the cartridges, and is much cheaper than buying cartridges alone. check this out for yourself.
