Just switched from PageMaker to Quark and now photos are printing darker and greyer. Kind of "washed out" looking. The same photos in PageMaker printed very crisp and bright.
We are using the correct drivers, our color printer has been calibrated, etc.
Any suggestions?

Check you color settings for ICC profiles. I'm assuming you do image editing in Photoshop and/or Illustrator. What's happening is that Quark may not be using, or using incorrectly the ICC profiles created by the Adobe products. And of course since Pagemaker is an Adobe product, they speak the same language very nicely. You may need to change the ICC profiles that Adobe attaches to alow for a better color.

Another possibility is the Print/Output settings when you go to print. I've run across the problem with a couple of our printers that if you have images in CMYK and the output setting as RGB or Generic color that they will generally print flat and washed out. Or if the RGB prints and CMYK Output they will be dark and bit off.

I hope this helps.
