I have spooled a print job to file - how do I later print that file?

Open the file in something like Wordpad or Notepad and then select FILE-PRINT.

This is assuming you are using Windows.

Erm - that prints the pcl spool file as is - i need to send it as a print file to the printer - not just print the PCL output

If you are try to print it to a network printer you have to do it from a DOS prompt. And the command line is

print/d:\\printserver\sharename drive:\ path\ filename

If that's not the case please post further.

Just noticed it the colors aren't the way I thought they would be there is a space after print/

Well, yes and no. How's that for an answer? You can create a bat file and use that as an icon on your desktop and drop the print files on the icon. But, it's still a DOS process.

Look up MS article Q158081 for that info.

There is a utility available for download at

I have not used it and know nothing about it.
