We have PDF's that are produced from a document composition software. The file size is 50MB because it includes a lot of resources. We open it in Acrobat Prof'l and print to Adobe PDF Printer. The new PDF is 2MB.

Each PDF file needs to retain its original filename.

How can we do this through a batch process? Distiller doesn't help with PDF to PDF.

Thanks in advance.

Acrobat pro - Advanced menu/Batch processing. Clcik on Print All and then Edit. Set what you want and IMPORTANT - click on options and set those.

If you want to preserve names don't want to overwrite the originals - usually not a good idea in case a snafu happens - make sure that you provide a different folder from the original as the destination.

Thanks so much - this definitely works!

Question back: Is there a way to save this Batch routine and kick it off through Windows Scheduler?

Thanks

Don't know - we use macs and really don't have to batch much in Acrobat
