Print spooler memory leak

I have a Server 2003 64 bit Server with lots of print drivers installed.

Over the last few months, the Spooler service keeps using more memory until it gets to about 400MB and the server becomes unresponsive.

I've removed all 32 bit drivers and done a cleanup of drivers but the issue persists.

I've also removed all print monitors from the registry to no avail.

Can anyone assist?

Have you checked the following

You can also run a sched task to recycle the spooler service during after hrs in order to see if that helps as well.

My version is 5.2.3790.3959 - the server is fully patched otherwise

All other 2003 Servers have the same version - is there somewhere I can get the older version? Google not helping - unless I'm reading the article wrong?

I've a script in place to restart the service but the server is in use 24 x 7 pretty much
