I have several network printers on Win 2003 server. Changing printing preferences or printing defaults on server only gets applied to a few workstations after reboot. Why aren't all the workstations getting the updated settings? Workstations are running XP Pro SP3.

You sure the client printers are installed from the shares and not installed locally as an ip printer?

Just my own observations, but the printer server will update the clients upon first use. You can avoid this by pushing the printers via GP (group policy)
