We have a 2k pro workstation on a peer/peer network that when you send a print job out from Excel or Word 2002 to a networked printer it shows up in the print manager as printing. Then the status changes from printing to deleting print job automatically and the printer never prints. It should be noted that you can print from notepad or the internet.

We have added a new tcp/ip port and deleted the printer and added it again. We shared the unit and tried to print from another workstation through it and got the same result. We tried to print from the unit to another computer that could print and it showed up in the print queue on the second unit but still did not print.

I've seen this a lot with antivirus interfering, try removing whatever you are using (not just disable it) and try again. The McAfee Enterpise edition does this a lot.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
