Can I print multiple documents with Acrobat 7 (have Pro & Standard on different machines and they are updated) by selecting the pdf's in Windows Explorer, right-clicking and choosing Print?

I am not having much success. I do not want to combine the docs as there are hundreds of them and need to send them to a heavy-duty Document Center.

I can do one at a time but that isn't a good solution.

thanks!

Printing pdfs is no differnet than printing multiples of any any app. However, Acrobat can put a pretty big load on the computer due to the sophistication possible - usually for professional printing. If you're getting stalls, or qutis that could be the reason.

You can try downloading Adobe Reader and printing from that. The reuslts will be the same if printed on a standard office printer.

Thanks...I can't even do 2 SMALL docs the way I described.. My machine is a (PC)3.2 ghz with 2 gb RAM so there is no way it should bog down! And we have tried it on several computers...

No stalls, no quits..no nothing...doesn't even go into the network print cue!

The printer software might not be all that compatible with the latest versions of Acrobat.

We use very potent graphics macs and have had some stalls, and dropped jobs from Acrobat Pro but never from Reader. Reader might already be on your machine.. If not it's a free download and worht the try.

I'll try getting Reader then as well.

The printers are heavy-duty color laser Document Centers and printer drivers are always updated through the network NDPS printing.

Just weird. Pro should be able to handle this. Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi,

I would say this is almost surely a problem on the document center's side -- it sounds like your software and computer are running fine. If using Reader to print doesn't help, I would contact the tech support unit for the document center and insist they address it. Once your tech support people get hold of it, they may find the manufacturer or someone else has observed this problem and has a fix or different driver.

Have you done this with any success? No matter where I try to send the print job, no matter what computer I use, it just doesn't work for me!

Maybe it's me...So I just pre-ordered Acro 8.

Hi,

I have not encountered the problem that you are describing, and my company does not use document centers per se. We have a couple big Canon color copier/printers and a support contract.

Not long after we got the printers, we had a problem printing to the Canons from PageMaker and we couldn't make it work no matter what we did -- I feel your pain. We tried uninstalling things, reinstalling, printing under Win2000 and WinXP, different computers, drivers, etc. We finally ruled out all problems on our side and demanded that our tech support people and/or Canon address the issue. They eventually made a fix to the drivers and it worked.

Good luck.

I just tried it here at home to my local printer and it works fine. I am using Acrobat 6 Pro here.

Sure sounds like this may be an issue related to the Novell 6.x network or the Acrobat version. When I go back on Monday, I will try printing to my local printer instead of the network printers. We have one Xerox Document Center and several color laser and color Xerox printers on the network (for volume printing). I only tried 2 of them.

I really want to figure this out now!

Thanks and have a good weekend...
