Print Migration Utility

Hi All,

Does anyone know of a good migration tool that will help me migrate 28 printers, 1 Print Spooler from a Windows2000 Server to a Windows2003 Server?

i would not recommend though. I always found it troublesome when using this tool. I just add them manually again. 21 is not so bad.

I think your right. I did try this utility (It may have been 1.0) and the Server whent to a 100% while I was running the backup. I had to cancel the program.

I will just add them manually.

PrintMig 3.0 which is mentioned on that page is far better.

Have you tested the migrating printers from Win2k to Windows2003 using this 3.0? Any issues?

Being honest I haven't but I should probably give it a try.

Certainly had no issues going from NT4 to W2K with it.

If I remember I'll give it a try on a test server tomorrow and see how I get on.

I have used v3 recently to migrate 50+ printers and it worked like a dream, only had problems with 2 printers (Xerox Phaser), but this wasn't a problem.

Good feedback to hear. I've decided to do the printers individually. At least I will know in the future if I need to migrate printers I can use this utility.
