I have a document in Q5 that I need to print.

The document is layedout in 4 8x11 pages. I need to print it on 11x17, 2 pages on 1 side and 2 pages on the other side.

Is there a way to tell the program to take 2 of these pages and print it on one side of the 11x17 sheet.

Thanks

Are you printing this yourself? If not, talk to your printer and see if they have software/XTensions that will take care of it automatically. Most printers do nowadays and there is usually no point in doing it yourself - in fact many printers (myself included) prefer that you don't!

If you ARE printing it yourself, or if you have been specifically told by your printers' pre-press guys to provide files in this way (and do make sure it's the pre-press guys you talk to rather than sales staff!), try one of the following:

1: Manually copy & paste your pages into a new document measuring 11x17 (highly recommended if it's only a 4 page document) - just make sure you position everything in the new document before you deselect.

2: In the Print dialog box, try selecting the 'Spreads' option (assuming the pages are paired up).

3: Root around in the Printer Options... a lot of drivers give you a few basic layouts that might do the job.

How about a quick and dirty way?
Take the two pages you want on the front and place them in the 'Document layout' box side by side. Left page to the left and Right page to the right. Then do the same to the next two pages.
When you enter the 'Print' dialogue check the 'Spreads' option under 'Document'. If you have to manually flip the page to print the back side, under 'Pages' type in '1-2' and make whatever other adjustment in the print dialogue that you need to make for your printer. Then Print.
For the back, do the same as above exept next to 'Pages' type '3-4' manually load your paper in the printer in whatever direction it needs to be to print as a back page (typically flipped from the output). And print.
You may run across the problem of alignment of front to back. If you do, your back pages will need to be adjusted L or R to compensate for that (experimentation is the best way).

I hope this helps.
