We have an application that requires the user to print directly to a network printer when using Citrix

ie
\\servername\printername
not client created printer
printername on servername (from clientname) .... etc

This works fine if using an ICA connection direct to the server but not using a published application.

We are using
Windows 2003 SP1
Citrix Presentation server ver 4.0

Can anyone help ?

Thanks
Damian

cygentrower,
Are all of these end-users going to print to 1 network printer or are they going to have multiple network printers to choose from?

This is the only printer that has to be directly attached.
(It's an application requirement)

However, users will need to use other printers for other applications. But these could be client attached printers.

These methods are "patches" but, in the short time, they should work. I've tried them on W2k platform with MetaframeXP1.0fr3

Method 1:
a. publish "printer folder" as application;
b. as user create a new printer using as "port" a "standard TCP port" that points to the network printer

Method 2:
a. create a new local printer that points to the network printer via "standard TCP port" on every Metaframe server;
b. set the printer object security in order to allow the interested users only to print and manage documents on it.

Let me know....
