Could try doing an Alt-Print Scrn with Explorer as the active/open window. This will copy the Explorer window to the clipboard. Then, open Paint and do an Edit, Paste (or right-click Paste) and the Explorer window should appear in paint. You should be able to print it from there.
you could also do a screenshot, if you have the util's, but I agree with rauleigh, too. <p>theEclipse<br><a href=mailto: > </a><br><a href=robacarp.webjump.com>robacarp.webjump.com</a><br>
Why don't you want to use a DOS command? The Windows GUI can't load without DOS.<br>
A <i>small</i> compromise may be in order.<br>
Open notepad and type:<br>
<br>
DIR /S /B A: > PRN<br>
<br>
Save the file as A-FILES.BAT (MS-DOS text) on your desktop. Click the icon to print a list of the files on your floppy.<br>
<br>
The alternatives appear to be:<ul><br>
<li>Spend a few hours editing an image in Paint</li><br>
<li>Buying WordPerfect</li><br>
<li>Buying a third-party Explorer substitute</li><br>
<li>Using a programming language</li></ul><br>
<br>
Unless you plan to use the file names in another application, why quibble with DOS? It can't be beaten in this instance.
Visit winmag.com and pick up a copy of Karen Kenworthy's free Directory Print utility. While you're there, check out all her other free utilities, you'll be amazed.
I know this question was posted ages ago but the easiest way to print the list of files is to go to my computer via Outlook (if you use it). It will display all your drives the same as in explorer but you have a print option this time.
