Hi There
I do not have a printer hooked up to the switch for Call Accounting; is there any way I can find out which extension dialed 9-1-1???

Thanks

Carolyn,

911 calls would come out of your SMDR port to a printer or a PC (as you mentioend call acocunting) if that feed is not enabled then you will not be able to capture anything. We use Genesis call accoutning and it works great. It has a feature specifically for capturing and alerting anyone by e-mail, cell phone etc that someone has called 911.(Genesis toll fraud) The real bonus is that they report the call while it is in progress. Not after the fact as most other call accounting softwares do. Hope it helps

an nortel feature is enhanced 911.. when someone dials it you get a single line to a screen or printer at the same time the call hits the trunk.. ext, name, duration, tod..

we send 911 to security and 9,911 to 911 dispatch.. because we have in house security with radio dispatch 7x24 it helps..

We setup a PC and setup a hyperterminal and set it as a tty. The connection captures every phone call.

When we get 911 calls, security calls and request where the call came from. We stop capture and restart it renaming the file to the current date. Open the previous file and do a find for OSN. It will provide you with the caller, and the time they placed a call to 911.
