I bought a new laptop: neo empriva 540NVP2 is it's model...it comes with the package of windows vista premium. my problem is this: I found a folder named Prime95, i don't know what it is, i tried to run it, but it produces an error so i deleted it. What is that program for? would it do any harm to my system? if ever that it is important where can i find an installer for it?

Prime95 is used to stress (CPU/Memory) test PCs.

What Vista DVD or Recovery Media were you supplied with, perhaps you can restore it from there, or even System Restore, if you still want it?

Maybe you got the original error because you didn't run the program with Elevated Privileges?

what do you mean by stress (CPU/Memory) test PCs. will my system have a problem if i did not re install/restore the program?

No. It is a diagnostic type program to check the machine is working correctly. It would appear to put stress on your CPU and RAM as part of any test.

There are plenty of RAM testers around should you ever need such a program.

To be honest you shouldnt delete anything unless u no wot it is b4 hand, next time be best to get advice b4 u delete something
