PRIME LINE/ LINE POOL HELP

We have a 3x8 and have two lines. I want it to pick up on line 1 first when someone picks up the phone then line two if someone is on line one. how do i setup this???

1) Put the lines in a pool
2) Give the phones access to that pool
3) Make Prime Line for the phone the pool you just built.

i did this... lines 1 and 2 are set to pool A and each phone has the prime line set to Pool A, but for some reason when i pick up the phone it uses line 2 first?? Any ideas?

The only way to do this is to change the wiring on the lines. You put line 1 to line 2 in the system and line 2 to line 1 in the system. Use Feature *81 to move the lines to the correct buttons. What you are experiencing is the way Line Pools work. The only way to change that is the way I have described.

Line pool always takes the LAST line in the pool, in order to keep the first lines available for incoming calls. It makes a
lot of sense.
