Hi Everyone,

I am an Aloha user 6.5 with a Positouch background. In Positouch menu's had Price levels in which I could set which price level I wanted to use on a Specific menu. I'm not sure if this is possible? For example I use the same ITM.DBF for every restaurant I support. One out of the 10 will have certain items with different prices. Say a steak will be 10.50 vs 10.25. I don't want to have a completely different ITM.DBF and have to manange multiple databases everytime I have a change or a new menu rollout. I know I can create an event, but don't want to create events for every item I need to make a change too.

I'm curious if anyone has come across something similar to this, and what there solution is.

Thanks in advance!

You could create what is called a Price Change in Aloha. This allows you to have the same items but each store would have its own Price Change to keep track of what their pricing is. You then create an event to fire that price change but the Price Change contains all items that use a different price.

Price change by item is a choice. The interface is tough depending on how organized your item database is as the entire list shows.

Another option is using price levels. Create a price level for the price of each "exception" item that is priced differently than your master database. Price those items by price level instead of item pricing or button pricing on the submenu button.

Another option is price levels along with price changes. Create the price levels but instead of setting the submenu buttons to a different price level set a price change that changes the final price of the price level.

Thanks for your responses, I found the price change interface in Aloha (don't know how I missed that). That worked perfectly for me, I just had to set one Event to make sure it ran all day.

Thanks!

James
