PRI with Analog Trunks on MICS 7.0

In a few weeks I'll be adding two PRI's to an Mics 7.0 w/ 8 existing analog trunks and adding 8 more for another tenant. I'd like to keep the system as close to a key system as possible with line appearances for the analog trunks. The PRI's are for DID's only. My question is do the DTI cards have to be installed in the main cabinet and if so, where would my numbering for lines begin after PRI's. Or can I get away with four DS cards before the DTI cards???? I'm thinking not and I'll have to begin my analog line appearances after the PRI's. Your comments

My initial thoughts are that the DTI's must be in the core and any analog trunks would be in 0x12 trunk modules. Numbering for the first analog trunk in this scenario would start with line 061.

I know that one DTI can be in a trunk module for a total of three at R7.0 software. I've heard from several techs on this forum that it is possible to install two DTI's off-core for four total, but it is not supported in the documentation.

Each DTI would have to be in a separate 0x12 trunk module in ports 7 & 8 only. I think curlycord has experience with doing two DTI's off core. I'm sure he'll add his input to this thread.

Hey Ex, I was thinking the same in regards to at least one being in main cabinet. I think I'll just install the two in main and begin my line assignment at 061 and rename them. Probably the simplest way to go. Thanks

I absolutely agree, keeps your system in order that way.
I cannot recall coming across any systems with 2 off core, I would do 2 in core myself since I am a bit anal and neat, orderly etc.

If you were to add 1 DTI and 1 POTS into the core then you would have one DTI in a 12X0 and not able to add anything more to that 12X0.
If you add both DTI's to the core and 1 POTS to the 12X0 you can at least add more POTS cards to that 12X0 if need down the road.

Also note this:
Tips - The off-core DTI module cannot be set to
either secondary or primary clock source. This module
is always free run.

Equipment note: The DTI card released in conjunction with
MICS 6.0 can be used either on or off-core. However, any
previous versions of the DTI card can only be used on the core
KSU hardware.
Refer to your equipment supplier for the
correct ordering codes.
