I ran the DID template upon start up. My DID ranges 2203 - 2231 work fine to this day but the customer now wants to add a few more that do not match the 22xx format.

Entering them in the Trunk/line data field, "Received number". The new DID's are 9189, 9996, 2316, and 0671. The only one that does not give an error is 2316.

I need to add these individual DID's and then route them to 22xx numbered DN's ultimately.

Example target line 187 is for received digits 9189 but the error, "9189 is not a valid option for 'Received number'.

Is it possible to add these new DID's and how would it be done?

The system cannot use 9 as the leading digit of a DID. Even though you are expecting 4 digits go ahead and program, for example, instead of 9189 enter 189 for the received digits and test. I have done this as a test and it worked for me.

The 9's are Line Pool or Dest. Codes, and the 0 is Direct Dial. They conflict with lead digit of your DID. Try Digitel's trick. The only guarrantee is to have telco send 7 digits.

you might have to change the received digit length to 3 or as Deweyhumbolt suggests change to 7 and have telco program to match (depends on if the first 3 digits don't conflict)

Thanks I will try the omit "9" trick first. i appreciate the quick response.

Cannot make it work with only 189. If I change the receive digit length from 4 to 3 does anyone know if this will require a reboot or disconnect any active calls?

This has worked on the BCM50. I wasn't sure on the CallPilot. If you decrease your received digits it will erase your target line programming.

Also one of the DID's second digit is a 9 so that won't work either...bummer. The LEC will have to provide us with different DID digits outpulsed.

Thanks again.

You could change the pool and destination codes to something other than 9. The customer would have to get used to using the new digit, though.

If you have to use those 4 numbers the telco gave you with no other choices. You can see if they can do didit manipulation and send you a number you can use. Some telcos cant do this.

Won't, not can't.

I understand their reasoning. Tech A programs the switch to do something non-standard, then tech B comes along, and changes it back, thinking it's a problem.

I had the telco send me new digits that fit in the numbering plan. This solved the problem.

Thank you eveyone for your input, I certainly do appreciate it.
