I am trying to configure an TDM PRI between an Avaya Definity v9 and an Adtran TA908e. We can pass calls between and get the 4 digit extension on internal calls and the 10 digit CID on tandem calls from the PSTN but we can not get the name to pass on the 4 digit extension calls. We don't get name from the PSTN so that is a non-issue. The Adtran tech is telling me that he sees the name but it is in the wrong place. It comes to the Adtran in the "Display Element 28" field and Adtran needs to see it in the "Facility Element 1C" field. I have tried numerous settings in the trunk group, ds1, signaling group, and route patterns but I can't get it to move.

Has anyone set up a similar configuration between these systems.

Thanks,

Verify your setup. Is this correct:

G3V9 - Adtran - PSTN

If so, what do you mean by "4 digit ext calls" as you're not sending 4 digit calls to the PSTN.

Set the "USNI Calling Name for Outgoing Calls?" to "y" on pg 8 of the system-parameters features form. This will include the calling name in the FACILITY Information Element in the SETUP message.

Also, on the ds1 form, the "Protocol Version" should be set to "b".

lopes1211 - The setup is actually:

PSTN - G3v9 - PSTN

Calls from the PSTN check the G3v9, if the extension (4-digit) is local to the G3v9 it terminates there, if the call is not in the G3v9 it checks the UDP table and it there is a match it uses AAR to route to the Adtran using 4 digits. Also, calls from local extensions in the G3v9 place 4-dgit calls to the Adtran as well as Adtran calls to the G3v9. These two systems are in the same room.

redphone,

We had already found the "USNI Calling Name for Outgoing Calls?" and had changed it from n to y and there was no changes in the results. The Adtran tech is monitoring the "D" channel to give me these results.

On the DS1 Configuration, we have tried both a in Protocol Version and set the Adtran to 5ESS and also tried b and set the Adtran to NI2 which is how it is currently configured. Still no change.

SS7 does not support CPE sending name to the PSTN. Avaya to Avaya PBX calls do support name via IE elements but this does not work via PSTN by design of the SS7.

Facility Element 1C" field is "Display Element 28" field. Hex 1C is Decimal 28.

Avaya. Too little or no help? Expensive?
