Dear all
we have connect our Nortel cs1000 to the PSTN using Pri link
the link is working but its frequently down and all channels are disabled
we deblock the trunk loop (ld 96 dis dch then ld 60 enll loop) the links becomes up for
short time then all channels disabled onc again.

You need to see if the link is clocking correctly and check this out in LD 60. Also refer to the history file to find out more on what is going on.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

and open a ticket with the LEC. If this was working fine and then one day you started having problems, have the LEC check their side. Make them move jumper pairs on the CO switch.

first thanks for reply

Looks like your clock is disabled. This looks like your problem. PRI needs clock for synchronization. Try setting up your reference clocks (Primary and secondary) in LD 73 and then enabling your clock in Ld 60. That should solve your issue:

LD 73
REQ CHG
TYPE PRI2
FEAT SYTI
CLKN <loop number of card containing clock controller>
PREF0 <loop number for primary reference>
PREF1 <loop number for secondary reference>

You may have to go through this process twice to ensure that the CLKN and the PREF0 are the same loop number.

Not sure whether the prompts are totally correct as I am responding from memory here but this should put you on the right track.

Like above check clocking if un sure go LD 22 prt the cequ and that will tell you the gateway the card (associated with PRI2 54) is in then in LD 60 ssck l s (l=loop and s=shelf obtained from cequ. Also as this is an E1 another Layer 1 issue you might be having is incorrect setting on CRC4.

LD 73
REQ prt
TYPE pri2
FEAT lpti
LOOP 54

top of the printout MFF can be CRC (CRC4 is set to on) or AFF (CRC4 is set to off).

If changing the CRC setings disable the DCH in LD 96 and disable the loop and rcnt the counters in LD 60. Make the change in 73 then enable.

dear sir
thanks alot for your help
first i changed the framing to CRC
the reference clock is in loop 34

how to set this reference clock to loop 54
thanks alot in advance

loop 34 is the refernce clock gives the clock to both shelfs through the clock controller

we already did that. its connected to the two shelfs

Looking at your printout you are on an option 61/81 so your clock references in ld 73 but you also need to cable between the clock controllers and the reference PRI(s)

our system is cs1000 upgraded from option 81 . the clock controllers are connected to the refernce PRI.
do you advice me to switch off the clock controller of the second shelf for a minute and then siwtch it on once again?

You are talking about loop 54 all the time but your clocking is from loop 34 is this another PSTN link and is it cabled to the PREF of both clocks?

What type of ISDN 30 card is being used?. Can you be sure that it has a clocking daughterboard card installed on it. On the ISDN 30 faceplate, what LED's are being shown as you should be seeing 3 Green LED's. The important one is the "CC" for clocking.
